To proceed:
It gives me great pleasure and honor to carry out my mission as Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Gharyan University—this venerable and founding faculty that was established in 1991. I am also pleased to exert every possible effort to develop the faculty and enhance its status so that it may fulfill its leading and positive role as an academic and educational institution whose goal and mission are to graduate academically qualified cadres capable of contributing effectively to the building of the nation.
The Faculty has always been a pioneer in offering the best through its programs in many academic disciplines at the licentiate level. It comprises thirteen academic departments.
Since its establishment, the Faculty of Arts has undertaken the responsibility of preparing competent and distinguished researchers capable of carrying the message of knowledge and work, equipped with practical experience and positive values. This is achieved through the provision of high-quality education in accordance with international standards, as well as through the continuous development of the academic services offered to students.
It is well known that education is no longer merely a set of courses that students are required to study; rather, it is a continuous and ever-renewing contribution. It involves the dissemination of academic knowledge, the development of creative individuals, the improvement of scientific and academic programs, and continuous work on their development in a manner that aligns with the needs of the labor market.
In this context, the Faculty of Arts always seeks to establish an integrative relationship with various community institutions in order to achieve a balance between society’s need for graduates on the one hand and the outputs of the educational process on the other. Cooperation between universities and community institutions represents one of the strongest and most effective bonds of communication and development.

The Faculty of Arts seeks to disseminate and advance academic knowledge in the various fields of the humanities by adopting high-quality academic programs, contributing to research processes, and supplying social institutions with qualified and specialized human expertise and capacities.
Vision
Achieving academic, research excellence and creativity, as well as fostering a generation committed to its religious faith, active in its society, devoted to its homeland, and supportive of the causes of its nation, while believing in freedom, justice, and equality.
Mission
Disseminating knowledge, learning, and Arab-Islamic culture among the various segments of society; formulating future academic plans and programs for development and modernization; and giving special attention to gifted and outstanding students by developing their academic abilities and utilizing them in the service of institutions, research centers, and companies related to their fields of specialization.
In addition, enhancing the scientific capacities and professional skills of faculty members in order to benefit from their educational and research expertise across the various fields of sustainable development.
Goals
Among the objectives of this faculty is achieving continuous development and modernization to meet society’s needs for specialized scientific cadres capable of keeping pace with the scientific and technological progress witnessed in the contemporary world. This is achieved through the following:
- Developing teaching and learning methods by employing modern scientific and technological tools.
- Enhancing the efficiency of academic and administrative staff through the design of academic and technical plans and programs, and establishing databases to be utilized for improvement and development.
- Improving and developing assessment and evaluation methods by consulting modern sources, references, and periodicals, and by communicating with international information networks.
- Connecting the faculty to the global information network (the Internet) to benefit from it in various scientific and research fields.
- Attracting and encouraging distinguished academic cadres in order to benefit from their expertise in scientific research and in human, economic, and social community development.
- Raising public awareness by organizing local and international seminars and conferences.
